Current Information

From 26 April new climbing courses will start at Kalymnos, the special outdoor climbing wall at Olympos (built against the P+R Utrecht Science Park).

Top rope for beginners

The first step in your climbing career is to take the Indoor top rope beginners' course. During this course you will learn the basic principles of sport climbing. If you follow all the lessons and pass the exam you will receive the NKBV Indoor Top Rope (IT) climbing proficiency certificate. With this certificate you are allowed to climb during the top rope hours at Kalymnos. Click here for more information and to register.

Technique, advanced

In this course (4 lessons), you will be provided with essential tips and tricks to rapidly improve your climbing skills. You will be taught the basic techniques in order to learn to climb as efficiently as possible. By the end of the course you will have acquired all the basic skills required to climb efficiently. Your climbing buddies will be amazed at your fast progress! This course is also an excellent preparation for the Olympos lead climbing course. Click here for more information and to register.

Lead climbing, advanced

This course is aimed at learning lead climbing on a climbing wall. You will learn the basic principles to lead climb safely and independently. The following issues are covered: rope handling, belaying the lead climber, practicing lead climbing falls. This course is a good start if you have ambitions to further improve your rock climbing skills. An exam will be taken during the last lesson. On passing this exam you will receive the NKBV Indoor Lead Climbing (IV) proficiency certificate. Click here for more information and to register.

As a result of the government-imposed lockdown, we have been forced to close our indoor facilities as from 15 December 2020. Whilst this was to be expected, the announcement still hurt badly.
Outdoor sports: Tennis, Climbing, Dry-tooling
We are happy to inform you that our outdoor facilities are allowed to remain open to be used for recreational tennis (singles only) and recreational climbing (top-rope and dry-tooling). Visit the Sports Programmes page for further information and to book up.
Stay active at home:  free online home work-outs & active breaks
Check our YouTube channel to join in any of more than 60 different free home work-outs, varying in intensity and length (10-40 mins). You can watch them back to take part in any time you want.
You can also take short active breaks during your studies, while working from home or during a Netflix session: on work days we broadcast two live active breaks per day, even during the X-mas holidays. These are ‘no sweat’ work-outs, so no need to change.
Stay healthy, stay active and take care of yourself and each other!
