Strength workout for Beginners

Would you like to have more varied practice sessions, be challenged more and get better results but do you lack experience in strength sports? This course is the one for you!   


In a small group supervised by an experienced and certified instructor, you will be introduced to the fundamentals of strength sports in a wide sense. In addition to dumbbells, you will be practising with kettlebells, slam balls and use your own body weight. Particular focus will be put on applying the proper technique when executing the various exercises. You will also be instructed about the basic principles of a training programme, a responsible practice build-up and maximum body capacity.

 

Strength sports have various benefits: 

  • Strengthening the muscles, tendons and bones
  • Improved metabolism and fat burn
  • Improved body posture
  • Reduced risk of injuries
  • Increased sports performance

Moreover, the many variations ensure the challenging nature of the sports. 

 

Once you have completed this course you will be able to confidently start training (free sports) in Kratistos (free with your OlymPas) as well as have sufficient experience to attend the Cross Challenge and the Hyrox courses.

 

Location 

Kratistos strength sports gym is situated in the parking garage (P+R Utrecht Science Park), right next to Olympos, the Kalymnos climbing wall and bus stop.

 

Registration
This course lasts five weeks/lessons.

Registration for this course is possible from two week before the start of the course period. You can register online, by adding the course to your shopping trolley, or at the Service Desk. An OlymPas is required if you want to follow this course. Your OlymPas must be valid until at least the last week of the course. You also need to pay a small extra fee due to the limited group size. You can sign up from two weeks prior to the start of the course via the table at the bottom of this page or at the Service Desk.
