USP Running practices for the 5k and 10k distances

USP Running practice for the 5k and 10k distances

Trainer: Kjeld van Hees
Aim: To achieve a maximum performance at the 5k or 10k distances

Practice
The running practice focuses specifically on improving your running technique and, as a result of this, your efficiency in order to increase your running pace. Each runner will set their individual goals in view of distance and pace and focus on this by means of  various practice forms. The ultimate aim is to come to the start of the agreed distance as fit and motivated as possible and achieve a maximum performance.

In general, the practice will consist of a short warming-up, followed by some standard strength and coordination exercises and a number of specific running techniques and tips on their proper application. The core element of the practice is an elaborate running programme consisting of paced distances. Your optimal running pace as well as your sense of pace are important factors in this, as is keeping a good posture and technique. The practice will conclude with a cooling-down, with ample room for questions and a task for your next practice session.
