Running practices for various distances 

Join the Running practices

Do you want to take up running and intend to complete the quarter marathon (10,55 k)? Or are you an experienced runner wishing to further improve your running capacity, to exceed your own limits or increase your pace on the half (21.1 km) or full marathon (42.195 km)? 

 

The once-a-week practice under the supervision of a professional trainer ensures that you will improve rapidly and responsibly. Running in a group is far more fun and encouraging. The trainer will provide you weekly with individual feedback and a task for the week after. You will be running in the beautiful area of and around the Utrecht Science Park and Amelisweerd.

 

You can opt to join either of four different types of practice, geared to your level and ambition/distance: 

When?

The practices will be offered in Periods 1 - 4 and include 10 weeks/lessons per period. Every 10 weeks you will have the chance to sign in and join the practices. This allows you to attend a specific period without having participated in the previous one.  Registration starts from two weeks prior to the start of the period/practices. 

Registration and payment

To register for one of the running practices scroll to the red table below (payment via iDeal) or go to the Olympos Service Desk. An OlymPas is required if you want to register for these practices. 

If you do not yet possess an OlymPas, you may purchase one when signing up for the running practice online (you can choose either for the term of one year or for at least the term of the running practice / period - so that is two or three months). 

 

NB: The OlymPas provides you with all-in access to nearly all Olympos sports programmes, such as unlimited use of the fitness facilities, participation in all group lessons (over 80 a week), use of the squash, tennis and climbing facilities and much more! Start

We assemble at the bicycle parking on the Genèvelaan at the Utrecht Science Park, next to The Basket.
 

Safety regulations  

Specific rules apply as a result of COVID-19. If you wish to join the running practices you will have to observe these.
First and foremost: let’s all use our common sense.
Stay home if you have had (even mild!) symptoms in the last 24 hours: a cold, runny nose, sneezing, shortness of breath, sore throat, cough, temperature or fever. 
Stay home if someone in your household has developed a fever ( 38°C or above) and/or shortness of breath or tested positive for COVID-19.
Get changed at home. Changing rooms or lockers are not available. 
To avoid crowd forming we will not be assembling at Olympos but at the bicycle shed at the Genèvelaan (next to The Basket).  
Do not arrive earlier than ten minutes before the start of the lesson.
Ensure that you keep 1.5m distance from other runners and other people, even at the assembly location. 
Do not shake hands or give high fives.
Leave for home immediately after finishing the running practice.
