Accessibility and Parking During the Utrecht Marathon on Sunday 31 May


On Sunday 31 May 2026, Utrecht will be hosting the HiPRO Utrecht Marathon, supported by Utrecht Science Park. Both the start and finish will take place at Utrecht Science Park (USP).

Utrecht Science Park will be largely closed to traffic on this day. Olympos will remain accessible, but please note the following:

  • Traffic will be heavier than usual on the roads leading to USP. Please allow for some extra travel time.

  • If possible, come by bike or public transportation. The tram between Central Station and P+R Utrecht Science Park will also be running on the 31st (which is not normally the case on weekends).

  • Are you coming by car?
    • Take the A28 to Olympos. Take exit 2 – Utrecht Science Park.

    • P-Olympos is accessible. This parking garage is also being used for the marathon, but part of the garage will be reserved for visitors to Olympos.

    • You will be stopped by traffic controllers on Universiteitsweg, near Uppsalalaan. If you let them know you need to go to Sportcentrum Olympos, you will be allowed through, provided there is still space available. 

    • In the unlikely event that P-Olympos is full, there is very likely still space available at P+R Utrecht Science Park, which is also located near Sportcentrum Olympos.
