Pickleball

Yes, we're going to play Pickleball again!

Pickleball is a relatively new but rapidly growing ball sport in the Netherlands – and has been extremely popular in the United States for years. The game combines elements of tennis, table tennis and badminton. The character of pickleball? Fast and slow, underhand serving, slicing, topspin, pushing, volleying, dinking, lobbing, smashing, resetting and rebuilding. And of course: the famous 3rd ball!

Pickleball is known for its sporting and convivial atmosphere, and is also very accessible.

After a pilot of six introductory lessons, we have purchased all the equipment we need to offer it on a regular basis. During a 1.5-hour lesson, you will learn the rules of the game, scoring, basic techniques and basic positions. We practise and play friendly matches, with an emphasis on teamwork (doubles).

The group pickleball lesson is free with an OlymPas and is offered on the following days and times (from Tuesday 17 February):

  • Tuesdays from 4.30 pm to 6 pm in hall 3B.
  • Fridays from 4.30 pm to 6 pm in hall 3B.

Reservations are made per lesson and are possible from 7 days prior to the lesson.
