Yoga Basics & beyond (course, 5 weeks)
Starts: Monday 4 January or Thursday 8 January (registration starts Monday 22 December)
This course is for students who are interested in yoga, have been to a few classes, and felt better afterward but wish they had received more explanation and guidance.
We will address questions such as:
- How to move through a basic flow sequence, such as Sun Salutations.
- How to align the breath with the movement.
- How yoga can be a meditative practice.
- What the different types of yoga are — and we will explore a few styles, including Vinyasa, Yin, and Hatha
Expect to move in a mindful and nurturing way for your body and mind.
Each class is 1.5 hours long, giving plenty of time to ask questions and share your experiences with the exercises. This course is a great starting point if you want to take more yoga classes or if you intend to build a simple, supportive home practice.
When you have completed this course, you can continue with the 10-week Yoga in Depth course later if you wish. And of course, with your OlymPas, you can also participate in the yoga group lessons (and all other group lessons).
